Given the traditional PCB mounting technique, THT technology today is often paired with SMT, which shares an advanced degree of automation. The manual component remains a constituent part of the production process.
For this reason, Essegi System has always invested in the training of experienced personnel certified in IPC A 610 for assembly. It also introduced advanced automation systems for selective soldering of components on both sides of the PCB and verification in the control phases.
Essegi System’s offer for THT assembly includes the management of the entire production process in all its phases:
- Component storage and preparation, kitting
- Preforming PTH components
- Manual assembly of individual PTH components
- Selective welding of PTH components
- Possible completion and mechanical assembly (finishing)
Selective Welding
Selective welding is carried out with two ERSA VERSAFLOW 3/45 selective welding machines on three crucibles, with continuous monitoring of the welding process via a camera and inspection of the weld joint at the end, ensuring maximum cleaning and recovery for each single point.
The management of THT components is carried out through automated and integrated storage systems using VERTIMAG vertical warehouses and ESSEGI AUTOMATION systems under controlled conditions of humidity and temperature.
